Henk Gooijer has studied Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University, with a specialization in materials science. He received his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 1988. Thereafter, he joined the research group Textile Technology of Twente University as an assistant. From 2004 on, he is technical project manager at TKT, The Dutch knowledge centre for the textile care industry.
At TKT, he directed a large diversity of projects for as well the dry cleaning as the textile service industry. The projects for the textile service industry were especially aimed at achieving water and energy savings by optimizing the laundry process and optimizing the life cycle of textile products. The projects for the dry cleaning industry were focused on benchmarking the cleaning performance of the diverse solvent systems, the development of best practices and cost price optimization. Special point of attention for both industries was always the implementation of the project results in industry, by presenting the results to the representatives of the industry, the development of training courses and consulting industry on application.
